Building Construction Phases
The City of Elkton, Kentucky is managing construction of a 60’ x 80’ x 16’ pole barn on a piecemeal basis and is accepting sealed bids on three separate contracts for construction.
Bid Item 1 – Building Materials: Bid Item 1 contract is for the purchase of building materials for a 60’ x 80’ x 16’ pole barn and delivery of materials to 304 Weathers Avenue, Elkton, Kentucky. Materials list can be obtained from Elkton City Hall or at www.elktonky.com.

Bid Item 2 – Construction Labor: Bid Item 2 contract is for labor only to build a 60’ x 80’ x 16’ pole barn including a one (1) man door, two (2) 14’ x 16’ roll up doors, and two (2) windows. The building includes a loft running the length of the building 8’ off the ground and 10’ deep. All materials will be provided by the city.
Bid Item 3 – Concrete and Labor: Bid Item 3 contract is for concrete and labor to build a 60’ x 80’, four-inch (4”) slab for the building floor. City will provide the gravel. Building will be built, and all plumbing needed will be installed prior to the concrete floor being poured.
All contractors will be required to provide proof of general liability insurance with a minimum of $1 million general liability and adequate worker’s compensation insurance prior to the contract being awarded.

Sealed bids must be clearly marked with each Bid Item listed above on the sealed envelope and submitted to Mayor’s Office, City of Elkton, PO Box 578, Elkton, Kentucky, 42220, or delivered to Elkton City Hall, 71 Public Square, Elkton, Kentucky, by 1:00 p.m. local time, Thursday, April 13, 2023. Bids will be opened at this time and presented to the city council for review at a regular meeting on April 13, 2023.
