In conjunction with the annual Christmas in Elkton event, the city of Elkton will now sponsor a Christmas Parade! Christmas in Elkton is held the first Friday in December. Many local businesses have all day sales, refreshments, open house, prizes and more! See belwo for the list of participants.
Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to arrive in Elkton this year with the parade bringing them to visit Public Square at about 6 PM. The parade will leave Todd Central High School at 6 PM and travel to Public Square. Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with onlookers and sing carols on the Square starting at about 6:30 PM with carols led by West Side Church of Christ.
After the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will then go to the Community House where children can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and have a free picture made by Fire Chief Darrin Cole from about 7 PM to 9:30 PM. There will also be free refreshments sponsored by city of Elkton, Marklin Insurance and Elkton Clincic. ELkton Baptist Church and Pea Ridge Full Gospel Church will also provide free activities for children.
The Todd County Community Alliance is also sponsoring free horse drawn carriage rides from 7 PM to 9:30 PM. One carriage will leave from the Historic Courthouse Welcome Center and one carriage will leave from the Community House.
