Meetings: As Needed on the 1st Thursday, 6 PM
Meeting Place: Elkton City Hall, 71 Public Square, Elkton, KY
The Elkton Planning Commission consists of nine members. The Elkton City Council appoints eight members. Because the city has extraterritorial jurisdiction three miles from the city limits for subdivision regulations, the Todd County Fiscal Court appoints one member.
The Commission is responsible for developing and reviewing the City’s comprehensive plan. This plan serves as a guide for the development of public and private property in the City. With a comprehensive plan in place, the commission enacts land use regulations. These regulations include zoning and other growth management regulations to promote public health, safety, morals and general welfare of the city to facilitate orderly and harmonious development (KRS Chapter 100).
