Elkton Bike Night – Each year, hundreds of motorcycles line Public Square every Thursday night for Elkton Bike Night. Even if you don’t have a motorcycle, many people come to “t
he Square” just to visit and enjoy the live entertainment.
The Todd County Community Alliance, a nonprofit membership organization established to promote Todd County, Kentucky, has already lined up live entertainment every Thursday night on Public Square from April 7th to September 29th. Other entertainment scheduled for later in the year includes additional performances by Five Star Band and the bands Midlife Crisis and Family Gospel and music by Clay Bilyeu and Sons of the South.
Food vendors, including Coy’s Barbeque, Backwoods Grilling and Brenda’s Snack Shack are already planning to set up near Public Square on Bike Night. Local restaurants will also have Bike Night specials. According to Bike Night Committee Chairman, Robert Brown, “Other vendors, church groups, Relay for Life teams are also welcome and encouraged to set up. They just need to contact me to work out the details of setting up and I will help them find a location to set up.”

Extravaganza and Carnival – Thursday, April 28th through Saturday, April 30th. Carnival rides, “everyone wins midway games,”vendor booths and yard sale booths begin Thursday afternoon on the old Elkton Die Casting property located on West Jefferson Street in Elkton and goes through Saturday night. Friday night also includes a free “Spring Scramble Dance” with live band. Additional Saturday events include free pictures on the egg chair, egg games for children and free egg cooking samples. Admission on the event grounds is free, however charges apply to carnival rides and everybody wins midway games.
Saturday Rides “Tour of Todd County” – The Elkton Bike Night Committee is also scheduling a monthly “Saturday Ride” in Todd County. Each ride will start at 10:00 am on Public Square in Elkton and will continue through Todd County ending at a different location each month.
The first “Saturday Ride” will be April 16th and will end at Shady Cliff Restaurant at Lake Malone. Other rides later in the year will end in Kirkmansville, Guthrie, Trenton and Clifty. Independence Day Celebration – Sunday, July 3rd. Free live music, large fireworks display, food vendors and more.
HarvestFest – Thursday, September 29th through Saturday, October 1st. HarvestFest kicks off with the final Elkton Bike Night of the year and always features a live band. This year, Five Star Band will end the year in style with a live concert on the Square.
Friday will bring a new event with a “Square Dance.” Put on your dancing shoes and getting ready to boogie on Public Square with entertainment by a live band to be announced.
Finally, HarvestFest really begins Saturday morning at 9 am when Public Square is closed down to vehicles and street vendors line Public Square selling arts and crafts, home decor, candles, homemade baked goods, jellies, jams, funnel cakes, clothing, purses, hamburgers and much, much more! While you shop around the Square, you can enjoy free live music on the Main Stage. Once the vendors clear out on Public Square at 3 PM, the final “Cruise in on the Square” will take over for the final night of the year.
New for 2011, there will be various carnival rides at the old Elkton Die Casting property on West Jefferson Street starting Thursday evening through Saturday night.
Christmas in Elkton – Friday, December 2nd. Many local businesses have all day sales, refreshments and give-a-ways. The annual Christmas decoration lighting ceremony will begin at approximately 5:00 PM with Christmas carols and free refreshments in the Historic Todd County Welcome Center. Santa Claus will arrive at the Milliken Memorial Community House at about 6:00 PM. Also in the Community House, free pictures with Santa, children’s activities and refreshments. Free horse drawn carriage rides from 6 to 9 pm.
