Mayor

 

Arthur Green began serving his first term as Mayor of Elkton on January 1, 2019 and is currently serving a second four-year term expiring  December 31, 2026. He attended Murray State University earning a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Agriculture Science with an emphasis in education. He began teaching at Todd Central High School in 1973 and taught agricultural education and served as FFA Advisor until 2006. While at Todd Central, he promoted the need for students to set goals and obtain skills for their future whether through a college, technical school, or on job training to obtain success. He continues to support the efforts of Todd County schools to prepare our students for success.

Since 2006, he has continued to serve the citizens of Todd County, by serving a term as County Judge Executive, serving on the Todd County Health Board, and supporting the Senior Center. He is actively involved in Elkton Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday school teacher, Deacon and Moderator. He continues to serve the FFA in Kentucky by being a member of the Foundation Board and President of the Kentucky FFA Alumni Association. Arthur believes that service is an obligation of all citizens to make Elkton and Todd County a great place to live and work.

As Mayor he wants all citizens to be actively involved in the betterment of the lives of our citizens.
