Gray’s plan called for the town to radiate from a two acre square. In 1835 a courthouse was erected in the center of this square. The “Old Courthouse” is the second oldest courthouse in the state. This monument, still the centerpiece of town, stands proudly to welcome everyone that enters our warm, friendly community Today, Elkton is a small community of approximately 1,984 citizens.
