City-County Park Grant

Update: June 14, 2012 – Renovations of the concession/restroom building have been completed with the installation of a new metal roof.  All dugouts in the park also now have new metal roofs.  Finally, the small pavilion has been removed and a larger pavilion with new concrete pad has been installed.  
   Final work remaining on this project will include installation of new lights on the tennis courts, installation of several new toddler playground equipment and new swing seats.

October 25, 2011 – As a part of the LWCF Grant project, the City of Elkton has awarded a competitively bid construction contract to Circle C Construction to completely renovate the concession and restroom building at the City-County Park.  Renovations will begin in November and are expected to be completed by February 2012.


May 4, 2011 – The City of Elkton and Todd County governments partnered with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for a “Day of Service” project titled “Pitching in for a Better Park” to make improvements to the City-County Park using volunteer labor.  See videos, pictures and read about the event here.

Monday, July 26, 2010 –  Governor Steve Beshear announced that the Elkton-Todd County Park was awarded a $65,000 Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant for improvements to the Park. The grant requires the Elkton-Todd County Park to match the grant with an additional $65,000 in cash or in-kind labor and goods for a total project of $130,000.

Improvements that will be made in the park include complete remodeling of the restroom facilities, renovation or replacement of two pavilions, skate park ramp repairs, fence repairs, dugout roof repairs, play equipment repaired or replaced, and installation of ADA accessible play equipment.
