ZONING ADMINISTRATOR/CODES ENFORCEMENT OFFICER

The City of Elkton, Kentucky is now accepting applications for the part-time position of Zoning Administrator/Codes Enforcement Officer. Under general direction, performs skilled and technical work ensuring compliance with municipal codes and ordinances; responsibility for enforcing local codes and ordinances (including planning and zoning, zoning permits, subdivision regulations, business licenses, nuisances, taxes, etc.); presents information to the Planning Commission, Board of Adjustment, and City Council, if requested; presents cases to the Code Enforcement Board; performs related work as required. Employees in this class work at the direction of the Mayor. This position will generally work approximately 25 hours per week with a minimum starting pay of $17.41 per hour. Requirements include High School diploma or equivalent; at least 21 years of age; must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license; strong computer and organizational skills; proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook preferred. After an offer of employment is made, employment is conditional upon passing any job-related screenings, including screening tests for illegal drug use and background check prior to employment.
