The City of Elkton, Kentucky is now accepting applications for a part-time position in the Street Department. The hourly wage will be $11.33 per hour. Employment will begin as soon as possible and will consist of 20 hours a week working under the direction of the Public Works Director performing manual skilled and semi-skilled work in operation of mowers, tractors, weed eater, and other hand tools used for maintaining and cleaning streets, sidewalks, and right-of-ways; maintain and clean city property grounds as requested; assist with city beautification efforts including planting flowers, watering flowers and general landscaping; working in the City-County Park as needed; and, other duties as assigned.
Applicants must be a high school graduate or have a GED and have and maintain a valid driver’s license during employment with the city. Screening tests for illegal drug use and alcohol use is required prior to employment after an offer for employment is made and during employment with the city.
