The Elkton-Todd County Park will once again host the annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display on Sunday, July 3rd at Todd County Central High School located at 806 South Main Street in Elkton.
Now in its 12th year, the annual fireworks spectacular, one of the best in the area, is sponsored through generous donations by BR Knuckles Insurance and Heritage Bank and draws spectators from across the county and surrounding area. According to Tim Little of BR Knuckles Insurance, “We are once again proud to a part of this celebration for our community and wider area. This is something we look forward to all year as we celebrate God and Country and it’s our way of saying thank you to the many communities we have the pleasure to serve.”
The Todd County Community Alliance is once again sponsoring free entertainment featuring the Corey Farlow Band. Corey is a local country music artist whose hits “Country Never Stops” and “Burnin Me Up” reached into the top 100 nationwide on the MusicRow Country Breakout chart. His recent hit “Strong” reached #1 on the Christian Country Weekly chart and stayed at 1 for 5 weeks! It also reached #1 on the Powersource Inspirational Country chart and still holding!
The city of Elkton is sponsoring a free children’s area from 7 to 9 PM. There will be a bouncy house, obstacle course or try your hand on the wipe out big baller course!
The activities will take place on the lawn near the baseball field and the public is asked not to walk or sit on the soccer field, which will be roped off from the public. Please bring your own chair or blanket and it is suggested that you get there early for a good seat!
Local groups such as the TCCHS band boosters, girls’ volleyball, City-County Park and Todd County Rescue Squad will be selling concessions and other items with proceeds going to support those groups and the Elkton-Todd County Park. They will be selling items such as glow items, hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, pork chops, cotton candy, ice pops, drinks and much more!
