The City of Elkton Utilities Department will be flushing water mains in the city of Elkton starting Monday, March 7, 2016 through Saturday, March 12, 2016. There is not a problem with the water. The purpose of a full system flush is to scour and maintain the water lines and ensure maximum safe drinking water quality.
Customers may experience some air and discoloration of the water supply during these operations. Should this occur, running a cold water tap for a short period will help restore the water quality to normal. It is advised that white clothing not be washed during periods of water discoloration due to possible staining.
