Tree and Limb Clean Up – UPDATE for June 8th

NOTICE: For Elkton Citizens from the Mayor’s Office

The sewer treatment plant on 304 Weathers Avenue will be open on Saturday, June 8 from the hours of 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. for residents of the city to continue the cleanup of limbs and trees. If you are able or have someone who can take the tree limbs to the sewer plant, please do so.

The city will continue to pickup materials near your property line next to the sidewalks and streets; however, it will take days and/or weeks before we can accommodate everyone. This cleanup will be a long-time project due to the amount of damage in the city. We appreciate your patience as we work on this project. We will also continue to do the normal work we have with the city as well.

Please drive with caution in the city, we have crews working along the streets, we have limbs and trees sticking out in the streets, and we want to make sure that no one is injured in the cleanup process. Again, please slow down and pay attention to the streets and the people working.

If you are elderly and disabled and cannot do the cleanup work in your yard, please call city hall at let us know. If you have a group or individually want to assist someone call city hall and we can advise you of those in need.
Thank you all for all the work that has been done since the storm on Sunday. The face of the city may have changed from the storm, but the people willing to help each other has not changed.
