UPDATE: The Elkton Christmas Parade was rescheduled to Saturday, December 16th.
Many local businesses will have open house, special sales, refreshments, and other activities throughout the day followed by a nighttime Christmas Parade starting at 5:00 PM.
The Parade will leave Todd County Central High School on South Main Street at 5 :00 PM and then head north towards Public Square. Parade route will exit the Square on West Main Street and ending at the Milliken Memorial Community House. The parade features lighted floats and entries from local businesses, schools and churches. Please note traffic will be blocked to Public Square starting around 4:00 PM until all festivities are over.
We are delighted to announce that the Grand Marshals of this year’s parade will be some distinguished Elkton residents who received the 2023 Gold Standard of Optimal Aging Award from the University of Louisville Trager Institute/Republic Band Foundation Optimal Aging Clinic:
• Mrs. Barbara Jordan
• Mr. Frank McReynolds, City Councilman
• Mrs. Janette Sharp
• Mr. Jacob ‘Jack’ Weber, Jr
Following the parade, Santa Claus himself will make a special appearance at the Welcome Center located in the heart of Elkton’s Public Square. Children and families are invited to visit Santa and receive a free digital picture with him, as well as a delightful goodie bag, generously sponsored by BR Knuckles Insurance.
