Independence Day Celebration

The Elkton-Todd County Park will once again host the annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display on Tuesday, July 3rd at Todd County Central High School located at 806 South Main Street in Elkton.

Now in its 14th year, the annual fireworks spectacular is sponsored by generous donations from BR Knuckles Insurance and Heritage Bank, drawing spectators from across the county and surrounding area.  According to Tim Little of BR Knuckles Insurance, “We are once again proud to be a part of this celebration for our community and wider area.  This is something we look forward to all year as we celebrate God and Country and it’s our way of saying thank you to the citizens in the many communities we have the pleasure to serve.”

The Todd County Chamber of Commerce will be providing free entertainment featuring The Andy Miller Band.  Also, the City of Elkton is sponsoring a free children’s area with bouncers from 7 to 9 PM.

The activities will take place on the lawn near the baseball field and the public is asked not to walk or sit on the soccer field, which will be roped off from the public. Please bring your own chair or blanket, and it is suggested that you get there early for a good seat!

Concessions will be operated by the Elkton-Todd County Recreation Commission featuring Chapman’s BBQ and the Todd Central Band Boosters.  A variety of sandwiches – ribeye, porkchop and chicken – along with the traditional hamburgers and hotdogs will be available.  Ice cream and icy pops will also be featured.
