PROPERTY FOR SALE
CITY OF ELKTON, KENTUCKY
The City of Elkton, Kentucky has declared the property located at 106 North Main Street, Elkton, Kentucky surplus property and will offer it for sale, as is, under sealed bid. Bidder understands and accepts that the property is being sold “AS IS” and that acceptance is based on the bidder’s own inspection and acceptance of the record and actual physical condition of the property and any structures thereon. The City makes no guarantee, warranty or representation, expressed or implied, as to the location, quality, kind, character, size description, fitness for use or purpose, freedom from any defect (latent or patent), compliance with or freedom from violation of any building, housing, zoning, environmental and/or other applicable ordinances, statutes or laws now or hereafter. It is the responsibility of the purchaser to obtain and pay for any title examination and/or survey. Once a bid is accepted by the city, payment in full shall be submitted to the City by cashier’s check or certified check within 30 days of acceptance of the bid. Deed to property will then be transferred to the winning bidder by the City and deed mailed to the purchaser.
To make an appointment to see the property or any other questions about the property for sale should be directed to Elkton City Hall at 270-265-9877. Bids should be placed in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “Sealed Bid North Main Property” and should be mailed or presented to the Elkton City Clerk at Elkton City Hall, 71 Public Square, PO Box 578, Elkton, KY 42220 between the office hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm by Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 3:00 PM local time. Bids will then be presented to the Elkton City Council for review. The City of Elkton reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, and to waive any technicality or informality in bidding or bids received, where such acceptance, rejection, or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the city.
