The city of Elkton recently installed a new emergency siren system fully funded by grant funds through the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security.
In order to test the system on a regular basis, the new siren will set off a test alert tone for 30 seconds every Monday at noon. This testing schedule will begin Monday, November 3rd. In the event of an actual emergency, the alert tone will last three minutes.
